About this speaker
Cara Delgado, LCSW earned her Masters' degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri in 1988. Following a move to Texas, she began her career at the world-renowned Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center in 1989. Since that time, she has worked in healthcare serving seniors as a Case Manager in a variety of settings including acute physical medicine and rehabilitation, long term acute care, and home health care.
Cara’s passion for seniors began one summer when she was in college and she became a CAREGiver for her grandmother after her grandmother had a heart attack.
She began her career as a business owner when she opened the Galveston and Brazoria County Home Instead Senior Care office in 2007. She had an opportunity to sell that office in 2013, purchase the North Houston Home Instead Senior Care office and get her entire life back in Houston where she currently lives and serves seniors.
Cara is active in the community as a member of the local Chamber of Commerce and organizations including the National Association of Social Workers Texas Chapter, Community Assistance Providers. She is the founding member of the North Houston Area Medical Social Work Association and the Coastal Area Medical Social Work Association and is a member of the Home Care Association of America. In her free time, she enjoys music, exercising, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
